Artist's Statement: I
am a proud native of Colorado; I was born on the western slope in Glenwood Springs. As early as 3 years
old I recall how I have loved drawing and painting. I remember selling my first drawing about the age of
12 or 13 to a stranger who was most likely just supporting my efforts and my ambitions with art.
I paint in a realistic style and I started by painting subjects such as landscapes, seascapes and
then wildlife, advancing later to portraiture. Each new painting subject is a fun challenge for me. Throughout
the years I’ve taken serious interest in educating myself through workshops, videos, books and painting with other artists
and teachers. I’m experienced in Oils, Pastels, Ink, and Charcoal primarily. During 1983 I started
painting seriously by selling my paintings at art exhibits and through other great opportunities.
I’ve been acknowledged with many awards and ribbons from art shows over the past 25 years. Around
the Corner Art Gallery in Montrose, Co. represents my work. My art expression feeds my soul and I
just can’t imagine my life without it.
